This week we are back to Paul and Mary Baillif's shared photos. This is a photo of our Grandparents Lawrence and Frances Martin on Lawrence's 70th birthday celebration dated October 20, 1946. This was taken in front of the apartment where they lived at the time. The address was 1915 2nd Ave South, Mpls, MN.
Photo 1: Lawrence and Frances Martin. Lawrence's 70th birthday. 1946.
I also am going to post this follow up on Angie Martin from information received from her daughter Jo Ann Jensen: Jo Ann sent the following information: I can't say enough thank you's for sharing that my Mama passed away last week. I have received emails and beautiful "Sympathy" cards from so many because of your posts. So many people remember my Mom as full of life, strong and someone who loved MN and the fishing that goes with it!!! She loved deep sea fishing passionately out in Southern California going out on the 1/2 Day Boats weekly out of the San Diego Harbor. She was well loved and respected among the mostly men aboard and not only would she string the bait for big men, but often won the jackpot for catching the largest fish
I have heard from Deb Jensen, Cindy Jensen, Chuck and Marlene (Jensen) Albertson, The Svoboda's down in Arizona and so many more folks whom I have known from years ago. Re-connecting feels like no time has really passed yet we all know that indeed it has!!!
My Mama's Burial Ceremony will be held on February 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. at The Riverside National Cemetary (a place for veterans of war and their spouses). So Mom will be laid to rest in Eternal Peace in the Mausoleum right next to her husband, my step-Dad Russel Paul Martin who passed away in 1995.
So much love to all of you generous and thoughtful Minnesotan's and kind Mid-Westerners in general. You are, as my Mama used to say: "The Salt of the Earth".
Thank you so very much for all your thoughts and prayers and please know that you've all made a difference for Lisa and me during this time of loss.
Much love to you all. Jo Ann Jensen~
